Why obstacle assessments must come from an approved provider
why certification matters
In South Africa, any structure proposed near an aerodrome requires a formal obstacle assessment before construction approval is granted. SACAA Part 178 and Part 139 are specific about this: the assessment has to come from a SACAA approved Assessment Entity. Not just a qualified consultant. If you submit a report from an unapproved provider, SACAA won't accept it and your application gets rejected.

All these aviation requirements can feel like a black box that you’re unsure how to open, but we strip back the technical details into a clear path forward for you.

Our service offerings
If you're building near an airport or redesigning how aircraft move through it, we provide the certified assessments, technical expertise and training guidance you need.

Obstacle Analysis and Reporting
01
If you’re building near an airport such as a wind farm, solar plant, telecom mast, development or power lines, you need a formal aviation assessment before you can get approval to build. We check whether your structure creates any conflict with the airport and, if it does, we tell you what your options are. You receive a signed report that you can submit as part of your planning or approval process.

Aerodrome Annex 14 Analysis & Reporting
02
Every airport has protected zones around its runways. These areas that must stay clear of obstacles to keep aircraft safe during take-off and landing. We check whether your airport meets the required safety standard, identify anything that falls short, and tell you what needs to be addressed.

Airspace Design and Training
03
When your airport, ANSP, or aviation authority needs to change how aircraft move through a region, our team designs the entire new airspace structure. This can include new routes, zones, or changes to how the airspace is managed. We also train the air traffic teams who will operate within the new setup, so the change goes smoothly from day one.

Flight Procedure Design and Training
04
Flight procedures are the defined paths aircraft follow when approaching and departing an airport. When these need to be created or updated, the work has to meet strict international safety standards. We design those procedures for airports and air traffic authorities, and we train the teams responsible for putting them into practice.

All structures (wind turbines, solar facilities, masts, buildings, and powerlines, etc) require an obstacle analysis and approval. If the structure is within 15 km of an aerodrome, you will also need an additional Annex 14 Analysis as part of the package.

We operate in alignment with ICAO and CAA regulatory requirements

Because we strictly adhere to the regulatory requirements, this means:
For obstacle analysis, you get a technically credible assessment report that satisfies CAA requirements and supports your planning or EIA approval.
For Annex 14 Analysis, you get a clear compliance picture of your aerodrome's protected airspace, with any risks identified and a defined path to fix them.
For airspace design, you get a restructured airspace concept that aligns with all applicable regulatory requirements and is efficient to your operations.
For flight procedure design, you get ICAO PANS-OPS compliant instrument procedures, fully documented and ready for submission and publication.
For our ATC implementation training, the controllers who are in charge of these operations are extensively briefed and familiarised by our specialist team.
